Prior to joining LA, Jason successfully represented a large school district and educational professionals as an In-House Attorney and through operating a law firm.
He also served as an Executive Assistant in the City of Detroit Mayor’s Office for one year. He has successfully represented insurance defense clients before the State Tenure Commission, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), State Circuit Courts, the Michigan Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Jason also attended the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) Training in Boulder, Colorado, and obtained a Certificate of Completion. As well, he attended the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Mayport Naval Station, Florida, and obtained a Graduate Certificate from the Police Legal Advisor Program for the purpose of legally advising police and security personnel at K though 12 School Districts.
Jason became so passionate about education while serving as In-House Counsel at one of Michigan’s largest school districts, he went back to school to obtain his Master of Science of Education with a specialization in Sports Management. This endeavor led him to found The WhiteCollarSports.com Foundation, a metropolitan Detroit Nonprofit that introduces high school student athletes to sports business terminology, collegiate sports management programs and sports business careers.
In addition, Jason is an adjunct professor at Davenport University where he teaches Employment and Labor Law as well as other law classes to undergraduates and the MBA Program. He is also a member of the Michigan Council of School Attorneys.
Education was a gift to Jason from his parents, Rev. Dempsey S. Harrison, Jr., and Mrs. Sandra K. Harrison, and he believes this is why he is so passionate about helping school districts, their employees and students. He resides with his wife, Lisa, and his son, Jason II, in the metropolitan Detroit area.
