What do you enjoy most about being a lawyer? My favorite part of being a lawyer is helping people, whether it be my family, members of my church or, of course, education clients. The intellectual stimulation is incredible when dissecting a client’s objectives for the school district and students, the law, and potential solutions.
Why did you choose education/school law as your preferred practice area? The most important issue facing America is the education of our youth. I am privileged to practice law in this specialization because of the unique opportunity to work with school districts, Superintendents, Principals, Teachers and Students… because I would not be the lawyer I am without these very people, my parents, and the Teachers of the Detroit Public Schools that educated me.
What do you love about working in Detroit? I attended Cass Technical High School in Downtown Detroit, so to be back downtown in the heart of so much renewed excitement and development is very exciting, especially in the “cool” LA offices.
